This primary school needed a pair of motorised shutters to compartmentalise the entrance to the kitchen and serving area from the rest of the school hall. ABC has extensive knowledge of fire safety management and advised the school on the ideal solution – fire shutters!

Not only would the shutter provide access control to the kitchens but, in the event of a fire in the kitchen, the shutter would stop the spread of fire for up to four hours, protecting the rest of the school to allow safe evacuation of students and staff.

To provide an added layer of security and to allow staff to shut the office when necessary, our DBS checked engineers attended the site, removed the architraves around the hatch opening and installed the roller shutter. We also commissioned three remote controls so all reception staff had a remote control to operate the shutter.
