TIPS FOR ROLLER SHUTTER MAINTENANCE

• The point of roller shutters is to lock them in place and prevent unauthorised personnel accessing a building or property- however if dust, dirt and debris is not removed from the surface, it may prevent them locking securely.
• It is advised to wash the surface of roller shutters every 2-3 months with water, a mild cleaning detergent and a soft sponge or brush in order to remove any elements that may prevent them from working adequately, including dirt and salt. With this said however, you should try your best to avoid spraying the water into the box and mechanical area.
• Get your shutters tested every 6 months to ensure that they are in full working condition. Sometimes you may find that people still trying to access your property despite the addition of roller shutters and whilst they very rarely succeed in their illegal antics, your shutters may suffer some damage. Spotting and fixing it early helps keep your property protected.
