Read on to find out more…

Staff Training

Before a member of staff operates a dock leveller it is vital that they are provided with full training. After all, dock levellers are connected to wagons and other dangerously large vehicles and one misinterpreted detail could put many people at risk. In addition to this, it is also important that there are several members of staff that coach the vehicle towards the dock leveller as such a job is just too big for one person to accurately and safely carry out alone.

If a vehicle docks with a leveller incorrectly it can cause damage to the equipment. In fact, injury to the dock leveller can happen in many different ways such as by docking at the wrong angle, docking at an inappropriate speed and even by braking suddenly after the vehicle has made contact with the buffer. Since damaged equipment can put people at risk, it is important to get the problems rectified as soon as possible and if the machinery is extremely damaged, it should not be used until it has been fixed.

With regards to damage, sometimes dock leveller problems are not the result of haphazard driving. In fact, they simply come from a lack of maintenance and service checks. With any kind of equipment it is vital that you put the necessary measures into place in order to ensure that it is in full working order 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. After all, neglecting maintenance is going to put many people at risk and reduce efficiency. Here at ABC Industrial Doors we believe that loading bay equipment is vital in any factory or warehouse that requires produce to be unloaded and loaded with efficiency. With this said, it is important that safety is taken into consideration. To find out more information about our dock levellers, get in contact with a member of the team today!
