Different Places to Install Bollards

Here at ABC Industrial Doors, we want our clients to recognise the versatility that our security solutions offer. After all, there are a variety of different places that a roller shutter can be installed in order to benefit business owners and property owners alike. In fact, bollards are a small yet highly effective way to control traffic and they can be installed in a range of different places. Read on as we go over the top three...

Driveways

While it may be an inconvenience, it isn’t against the law for a complete stranger to park their vehicle on a random driveway as long as they don’t block any other cars in the process. This means that homeowners could very well return home from a long workday and be greeted with a parking problem. Luckily, bollards can be installed on the very end of a driveway in order to ensure that a driveway is only used by the respective homeowner and they are lowered in order to allow the vehicle to enter and exit the property.

City Centres

In recent years, there have been many different terror attacks involving vehicles mounting the pavement in busy city centres. As a result, the government has cracked down on the places where cars are allowed to drive and bollards have played an integral role in this scheme. After all, concrete and metal bollards are impossible to bypass, even at high speeds, which means that pedestrian safety is ensured at all times.

Delivery Bays

Although pedestrian safety is important, it is vital that delivery vans are not affected by the installation of bollards in city centres. Luckily, it is possible to purchase telescopic bollards as these are lowered into the ground in order to allow permitted vehicles to reach their destination. In fact, these bollards are very popular in delivery bays because they are often located in alleyways that must be accessed via pedestrian walkways. A bollard is the name given to a vertical post that is often made from concrete or metal and secured into the ground. In fact, there are a range of different types including traditional static bollards which don’t move and telescopic bollards which can be lowered into the ground in order to allow vehicles to enter and exit a specific location. Although we are known for our high-quality roller shutters, the team here at ABC Industrial also provide a secure bollard installation service. To find out more information, get in contact with a member of the team and ask about our range of bollards today!
