3 Different Places You Might Find an Automatic Door

Although they were once considered a brand-new piece of technology, automatic doors have become a recognised and established aspect of modern society and they can now be found in a variety of different locations. Whether they’re sliding or swinging, it's safe to say that there are a number of benefits that companies can obtain from an investment in an automatic door such as aesthetics and safety. Read on as we go over three places where you’re guaranteed to find them...

Known for their convenience and aesthetics, the majority of supermarkets will have sliding automatic doors that allow customers to enter and exit the building. These allow the flow of foot traffic to move at a much faster place that simply wouldn’t be possible without automatic doors. Plus, they also accommodate the use of a trolley. After all, it would be quite difficult to maneuver a manual door or even use an automatic swinging door when entering a supermarket with a trolley.

A fast paced environment like a hospital needs to have doors that are easy to maneuver and that is why you’re incredibly likely to find automatic doors here. After all, rushing a patient from A to B would be extremely difficult if all of the doors were manual and patients themselves may even struggle to get around the building. With this said, not every automatic door in a hospital will be a sliding door as some will opt for swinging whilst others implement folding doors instead.

Perhaps the most unique example of where you might find an automatic door would be an airport. After all, holiday-goers often arrive with multiple suitcases full of luggage so there needs to be an easy way to enter the building. Plus, the large crowds that make their way through an airport can travel much more efficiently when there are automatic doors in place because there is no need to hold anything open. Again, it is far more likely that airports will opt for sliding doors in order to control foot traffic. Here at ABC Industrial, we take safety incredibly seriously. After all, automatic doors are so prevalent nowadays that the technology that allows them to sense when a person is nearby needs to be in tip top condition at all times. As such, it is important that they are regularly inspected by a qualified engineer on a regular and routine basis.
