The Wrath of Hurricane Harvey

The Wrath of Hurricane Harvey

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past weekend, it is likely that you will have heard about the devastation that hurricane Harvey left in its wake after it tore through the state of Texas. With thousands of people left homeless due to dangerous flooding and torrential winds, there was nothing that anyone could do to prevent the storm from occurring. In fact, experts have said that global warming may have exacerbated the storm, making it more catastrophic that it should have been. Since safety and security are a large part of our ethos here at ABC Industrial, we are going to dedicate this blog to the wrath of hurricane Harvey in order to raise awareness about how important it is to put security measure in place during heavy weather conditions…

Starting its brutal attack on Saturday 26th August 2017, the tropical storm hit the majority of the Texan state, plunging 235,000 people into darkness. Images and videos that emerged following the climax of the storm showed evidence of extensive property damage and it was feared that many people were missing beneath the debris.

The weather phenomenon saw 15-25 inches of rainfall come down around the middle and upper coast whilst other isolated areas were expected to receive 40 inches, threatening the occurrence of storm surges, swells, tornadoes and extremely high winds.

Here at ABC Industrial, we put the safety of people and the security of property into the thought of every single one of our products. From roller shutters to window grilles, there are several ways you can protect yourself from the wrath of extreme weather conditions. Whilst the UK doesn’t tend to get torrential weather conditions like the heart-breaking occurrence of hurricane Harvey, which has a current death toll of 14, we are not immune to the devastating wrath of mother nature which is why it is vital that we ensure we are putting every measure possible into protecting our property.
